Ok there will be a lot of updating during this week :o)
This weekend we travelled to the EO in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, a 1500 km round trip for us. Susanne (Unique/Spirit) and I travelled down together - I had Monty, Xenia, One, Spooky, Soda, Hoblet and Whizz with us in the car. We stayed at a dog friendly hotel only 5 minutes from the venue.
I will only mention the highlights, some good and some less than good:
- Well done to Bernadette/Hex and Susanne/Unique with their fantastic individual results.
- I got to meet Spooky puppies: Beauty, Ash, Willow, Luca & Theis. They all have matured really well and are an extremely promising litter.
- We were glad the hotel was dog friendly as it rained both days at the show and I have never seen or run in as much mud.
- Phrase of the weekend out of the mouth of a cool englishman...story is: Susanne/U takes a fall in the mud, U takes the next three obstacles on verbal command only, Susanne gets up and continues run and the comment was " Lazy cow, taking a nap out there on the course ".
- One went through to the final but I got him eliminated.
- Bye Bye and thanks for visiting to Hoblet :o) She is now back in the UK with Dennis & Bernadette.
- The mud was everywhere, and running conditions were very poor on the 2nd day. As we were not allowed to withdraw dogs, I did a few runs were I did the opening jump and the last jump, so got a big E. The picture below is where the equipment was placed for the large dogs jumping on the Sunday.
