Goodbye to Foggy

Yesterday I had to say goodbye to Foggy :o(

He had been a bit tired during our weekend away, but I thought perhaps it was the heat and the fact that we were away all weekend. Blood tests at the vets Tuesday confirmed my worst fears - it was time to say goodbye. Foggy's kidneys were not functioning properly and he would only get worse over the next few days. Tuesday evening we went to Kirstens and just had fun. Foggy was tired on the way home, but had a great evening. Wednesday morning we went for a walk, and Foggy's favourite - a swim!!! Even Whizz made a good effort and played her usual Loch Ness monster role - where she would wait at the edge of the water for Foggy to come up, and pounce on him. Kirsten came with me to the vets - and we buried Foggy in the prettiest corner in her training field.

In Danish there is a saying " Kært barn har mange navne" - translated " loved child has many names ". Foggy aka. Foggy-doggy, Roobydoo, Roo, Woo-woo - we will all miss him terribly. He was the border collie in this world that had the cleanest ears - Whizz was his personal groom - and how many toys did he not destroy in his quest to see what's inside :o) Everyone will remember him for his passion for swimming. How many times have we had to drag him out of the water to save him from swimming to Sweden - or him sneaking into the kids wading pools, even though they were covered up. My all time favourite, and an episode we have laughed about many times was when Christian threw a tennis ball over the roof at Kirsten's - and instead of running around the building, Foggy ran through the hallway and jumped out through the window to get the ball :o)

I am truly thankful for the time I had Foggy - he was one of a kind.

What a special man that Foggy has been to you. It's so sad when we have to say goodbye but how lucky you are to have such amusing memories. Thinking of you lots.

Oh Johanna! Your house will seem empty as Foggy was such a BIG character in size and spirit. I know you will miss the noisy crazy bastard and I bet little Whizz will miss him most. Thank God you have his son Spooky who has so many of Foggy's great attributes.
Hugs from me and Dennis
