We were to do 4 fifteen minute shows ( Emmy & I including dogs ). We have previously worked for Vi Med Hund at a trade fair - so naturlly we said "YES" to this aswell. We performed on the main stage once Friday, twice Saturday and once Sunday. When they found out how many people had watched the dogdancing we were invited for an extra show Sunday evening just before the Trade Fair ended :o)
Friday I worked Spooky to his new FS2 routine. The slippy carpet gave a few challenges - and I found a few places I needed to change my routine for the next day. Luckily we could work on the stage with the dogs before the Fair opened - Spooky freaked me out by leaping off the stage - which was just under 2 metres up from ground level. Soda did really well - and I decided I would work her Saturday and Sunday.
Spooky was a bit unconcentrated on the first show Saturday so I decided not to work him more that weekend - but when invited to do another show Sunday I changed my mind. He did really well and I was pleased with his attitude - Spooky has a technique where he looks like he is working but isnt :o) which can really annoy me. But he was great Sunday evening.
Soda at 6 mths was wonderful! Her first demo Saturday was excellent - Saturday evening her little mind was losing it so she was a bit unconcentrated - and missed a few clues - but nothing disasterous. Sunday morning she did a great performance and I have it on tape. Will post it on Youtube shortly...I had a few poor timing errors, but Soda was outstanding. All in all I was thrilled with her. She worked without rewards or luring on voice commands only - on a carpeted stage, with music, spotlights and a huge audience, filled with kids - her favourite :o)
Spooky also participated in a family quiz. That is he was the "Guess The Breed " dog. Choices were Australian Shepherd, border collie & husky. One family guessed bc - the other Aussie - I am glad no one said Husky !!!! The worst part was that the presenter of the quizz - a well known Danish kids presenter called Bubber took it upon himself to ask me a few questions - I was only prepared to show Spooky once around the stage. So he caught me unprepared and I had to try and answer intelligently infront of the huge audience :o) Oh well.... I prepared Emmy for the same as she had Biscuit in later for part 2 of the quizz but she only had to do tricks - not fair!
Anyhow it was a great weekend and we had a stand next to Hund & Træning a Danish magazine/company for dogtraining. (Our tent to the left of Hund & Træning )
