Last week agility class was cancelled due to snow - today I had to cancel my 2 Foundation Classes - again due to the snow which has fallen in huge amounts. I left work early today in a minor blizzard - and when I got to my driveway my car got stuck in a pile of snow - with the back end sticking out onto one of the lanes on the main road aaaargghhhhh! As I dashed out of the car to grab a shovel - a moving van drove up and 2 guys pushed the car into the driveway. Phew! On the plus side all sheltie boys under 10 yrs old have had a blast in the snowy yard all evening and are snoring sweetly in the warm hall.
Sunday I had entered a breed show in Fredericia ( which is about 1,5 hours drive from me ). I woke up up at 6 am to another snow storm, packed the car and off we went. I was driving over with Laila/Topperteam who came for the ride. In the snowstorm.....crazy people!!!! Laila brought Emilie along, her young rough collie bitch. I had the pleasure of showing Honey ( a lovely sable junior ). She has the coolest temperament - she has sparkle and bounce and loves life! I have had her for the week for training before the show - she moves well in training and stands beautifully. Honey stood like a dream but oh my - she forget all about our practise and had a party in the ring :o/ hmmmm.... but the judge gave us time - and on the second round she moved nicely. She got a VG and was 3rd in her class. I also showed Luna. Luna shows & moves like a dream and is coming nicely in coat after her litter. She got an excellent and was 2nd in open bitches. And Carson's daughter Ziva won Best Puppy In Breed!
On the way over Laila and I had heard a "noise" from the car - and decided it was ice near the wheels ( you can hear what mechanical experts we are - right ). It turned out to be the metal motor protector that had come loose and the noise was the metal in contact with the asphalt. I called my Autohjælpinsurancethingamybob and they would come within 1,5 hours. I wasnt interested in waiting all that time - and we discussed our options - we called a friend for advice - which would have involved us crawling around in the slush. Then we discussed the military police who were guiding traffic at the show. Laila hopped out of the car and came back with a couple of military guys in tow, including toolbox. We opted on not asking the audience ;o) 2 minutes later we were on the road ( one of the guys fixed the problem, the other took pictures of him with a cellphone crawling around in the slush under my car ).
The weekend before last I took a short trip to the UK. I flew with Norwegian which was a really good trip to Gatwick direct from Copenhagen. Thursday we went to Nancy & Andy's and did some shopping in Tunbridge Wells and finished the day with Billingshurst Chinese Take Away mmmmmm. Saturday was a brilliant day in great company! I taught an agility training session with Bernadette, Nancy, Karen, Leah and Jay. We finished off with a pub lunch - a BLT sandwich for me including lemon meringue pie with custard....! Saturday evening we did Zen's "pawprint" - a long story short is that we needed Zen's pawprint in a piece of modelling clay to make a piece of jewellery - inbetween me wanting a photo of the occasion and Zen trying to bite the modelling clay! Sunday I travelled home, including Soda's new treasure chest - unfortunately it didnt include the shelties pictured.
