Catching up

First of all. We are no longer on dialup. Broadband has arrived at Homestead Ridge. What a blessing!!! I have put pictures from the last few days up.

Yesterday I went in to Perth. I started with a bit of shopping at Harbour Town - a retail outlet. I then moved the car into a parking multi-storey in the centre of Perth. I am a wus when it comes to parking as it is - but this was a very traumatic experience with my dad's car - which is actually classified as a truck. First of all, it could not park in the majority of spaces ( short cars only!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ). Must be an aussie rule. Secondly I had a very difficult time manouevering it from level to level as it was almost too long to get around the corners. There were a lot of typical high-street stores in Perth - nothing very different, except London Court where the houses looked like something out of Tudor England. Quite charming.

Today I chilled - got up even later than usual and then took a walk around the estate. Today has been the first really sunny day! I saw the neighbour's emu, Dexter, and walked down to Wellard drive where a family REALLY decorates their house for Christmas. They collect money for one of the local hospitals from all the people who drive in to see.
I met the owner of the house and he gave me a detailed tour - and history behind each piece. Most of them move - and its quite a big attraction for people all around the area at Christmas time. We took a ride down there this evening to see it by night.

Tomorrow I am going training with Helen/Westurn and at the end of the week we are going camping ( in a tent!!! ) in Karlgoorlie - 800 km from here in a mining town with a great history!

God Jul!!!
