....lots of lovely words and no pictures....

This morning I finished the book Sleepers - very moving and absolutely nailbiting. We had a late breakfast ( guess who arrived last ) and then drove down to Fremantle. We stopped at the CY Conner beach where a statue of him sitting on a horse was placed in the sea. CY Conner was a famous engineer wayback and he designed and oversaw the building of the waterpipe to Kalgoorlie. Unfortunately he believed that it would not work and committed suicide just before the water came up from Perth. For the original settlers back then times were treacherous and travelling those distances in the unbearable heat killed a lot of people.

We walked down by the harbour and had lunch at Cicerello's - a great fish restaurant built over the water. There is a great story about the place - just need to find it :0) Since our last visit they had hung a canoo from the roofbeams - apparently a lawyer ( probably thinking he was invincible ) had been out canooing when he ought not to be and a shark bit a huge chunk out of the canoo - that is scary stuff and enough to keep me out of the water!!!
This evening I drove up to CAWA - there is a building and permanent show grounds for breed, agility etc. In residential areas the rule is usually max. 2 dogs pr. house - unless you live in one of the kennel zones - then other rules apply. And the show grounds are in that area too. The show was to start at 6 pm - but some of the courses were not quite built so we started later. I ran Cash - a fantastic border collie I borrowed from Helen ( Westurn Border Collies ). Our first run was chaos - then we got into things. Our second run was beautiful and we got a 6th place. Our 3rd rund started well and Cash picked up on my handling really well, and handled all the difficult sections really well - unfortunately I made a small error and that was it. Our final run ( like a gamblers ) was excellent - just missed a jump though. All in all 3 great runs and one run which was like a warmup for us both. Most of the courses were suitable for the level and the equipment was up to standard.
