We started the day with the now infamous breakfast. We were joined by a couple of ladies who taught for Guide Dogs For The Blind. One of the ladies competed in WCFO ( freestyle ) so we had an interesting chat. Our first presentation was "Puppy Start Right" - this was an all level 45 minutes presentation which was very generel but informative. Our first real session was "Smart Reinforcement" with Ken Ramirez - an advanced level session followed by the working lab. Both really interesting and with some great new ideas for the toolbox.
We sped off to Champagnes for our last lunch there - followed by Baskin Robbins IceCream.
The final session was "Simplifying Training Tools" an advanced session by Ken Ramirez. We were presented with 9 topics and had to chose 4 topics that would be presented. This was an interesting session - and the 2 topics I was interested in hearing were chosen out of the 4 that Ken presented.
There was a break after this session - then a conference review. We decided to head north towards LA and our next hotel. We had booked 3 nights at an aiport hotel - the Hacienda.
The hotel was the complete opposite from the Hyatt Regency :-/ Old, smelly and an airconditioning that couldnt be adjusted. It was painted salmon coloured and was really very tacky. We picked up some brochures from the lobby and decided on a bus tour of LA the next day. At 1.30 am the telephone rang argggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh........
